The 40th meeting of the EBF Associate members was held in San Marino on 29 May. The meeting was attended by representatives of national banking associations from Albania, Belgium, Croatia, Estonia, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Spain, Turkey, and San Marino as a host, accompanied by several representatives of the EBF Fellows (former Executive Committee members).
The Banking Association of San Marino, who recently joined the EBF as an Associate member, organised an outstanding event involving high level guest speakers such as the Finance Minister of San Marino, Giancarlo Capicchioni, as well as the Director of the Central Bank of San Marino, Mario Giannini. In addition, all participants had the extraordinary opportunity to attend a public audience with the Captain Regents, Heads of State of the Republic, where Robert Priester, EBF Deputy CEO, presented the role and mission of the Federation.
The meeting itself was the occasion to discuss the situation in the banking sector of all participating countries, as well as the European Investment Plan, the Capital Markets Union, financial education and a focus on Turkey’s banking reforms was also presented.
The EBF wishes to thank the Association of San Marino for its brilliant organisation and hospitality and is very pleased to see such micro state involved in international cooperation, especially with the European Union.
